Yes, you can bring food through airport security—with some important exceptions.
What’s Allowed

Solid foods pass through TSA without issues:
- Sandwiches and wraps
- Fruit and vegetables
- Chips, crackers, and snacks
- Candy and chocolate
- Baked goods and bread
What’s Restricted
The 3-1-1 liquid rule applies to food too. These items over 3.4 oz must be checked:
- Soups and sauces
- Peanut butter and hummus
- Jams and jellies
- Yogurt and pudding
Flying International?

Many countries prohibit fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat products. Packaged snacks are usually fine, but fresh produce will likely be confiscated at customs.
Pro tip: Freeze your water bottle before security. Ice is considered a solid and allowed through—it’ll melt during your flight.
